How would I add my categories to the WordPress navigation bar?

WordPress's navigation bar usually shows the "Home" button, then all the pages. How would I add all my categories to the end of the nav bar?

Instead of:

Home | Page 1 | Page 2

Code (markup):

I want:

Home | Page 1 | Page 2 | Category 1 | Category 2 | Category 3

You need to learn the difference between pages and posts.

Then you need to find a template that supports both pages and posts... categories are created by you as you create content and the way they are displayed depends on the template you use.

For Pages... they become tabs that can be reorganized.
Posts can be assigned to the Categories you create.

Some templates bypass pages all together.
