I would like to build some sites so searching for new domain. .com is hard to get good domain. I am thinking to register some with "the" beginning of words. For example, like theusabank, thefamilyalbum... It said that facebook used to be thefacebook.com Perhaps it's not too bad with 'the' start domain?
Every additional character in domain name is bad for your site promotion, pal. I think `the` in the beginning should be avoided. Look for some other ideas. Use some metaphoric words, use not only english (afrikan languages, russian, portuguese, greek, latin) words. Ask community to help you with good domain names.
Basically every search engine will count your domain with THE word first and after that your domain name will count, therefore its always better to use small domains with the exact words which shows the summary for your web sites content...for example if you are creating the web sites with mobile phones then themobile won't work properly but mobileshop or mobileoffer will increase the hits for your web site but in the end, its depend on your choice because now a days google penguin having its own algorithm and its already caused many web sites downside ranking
I don't believe about counting of the domain name characters etc. And I dont believe it will "hurt" that much. It may take effect a little but hey there is a lot of factors to consider to rank or market a website. For me, as long as the keyword is on the domain name then its fine. However, having the exact match domain is quite preferable. Take for instance those blogs like johnchowdotcom and the like. They don't have keywords on their domain names but hey they rank for several keywords. It is just a matter of creating unique and quality content. Also, try to search for "make money online" and see if the so called exact match domain are doing good ranking. Look at the domain names of the sites listed at the first page.
It won't hurt you. Google is currently putting the smack down on exact keyword domains, so it might be to your benefit. There are plenty of popular sites with "the" in the title, just like http://thechive.com/
It is not good idea to use prefix or suffix, instead give time in researching domain name and find branded name... This is not good idea to add, the, my, best, top etc..
Yeah, I aggree with you. Even though the domain itself should perfectly describe what its contents are it is still the content that matters. So you can have the domain name you want.
As long as it sounds good and makes sense you are good to go.Big G doesen't give a damn about your domain name as long as you have good unique content posted often and invest some money in SEO.
