I wonder how the current financial "meltdown" will affect DP, it's users, and in particular, the BST section. Will websites be bought and sold less frequently? For a lower price? Will people start to abandon the forum as they don't have enough money to transact for DP services, or get jaded by scams and not being able to make money online? What about designers, coders, article writers and the like - will there be some culling of the herd? TechCrunch posted a letter by an Angel investor to "his" CEO's - warning them about the difficulties ahead and what they should do. I think some of the advice is good for everyone: 1. Have a cash reserve on hand (an 'emergency fund'), hopefully big enough to last 12 months. 2. Lower your burn rate. Stop spending so much damn money! 3. Watch your valuations. Be sure you don't overvalue your property (house, websites, etc), as you'll likely see the values drop. 4. Raise more money. Make more money now and squirrel it away for tough times ahead. 5. Evaluate/modify/prepare your goals, plans and timelines. Make a plan, and you may be better prepared for the shitstorm. What are your thoughts on all of this???
