Hi I'm new to all of this and am designing my first site using Dreamweaver 8. I haven't yet published the site but how can I tell how it will show up on other browsers eg Firefox? Do I have to publish the site in order to tell?
In DW 8 is a feature where you can preview your site in firefox and IE and several other browsers. look for the Earth icon somewhere on your toolbar (i don't have DW with me right now so someone else may be able to how you a screenshot.
If we want to revew in IE.7, do we have to update the DW or IE ? Please help and suggest. Thanks and Regards Viineet Jain
It may be worth your time to consider using a browser screen shot service such as http://www.browsershots.org (I always use them and their priority service is exceptionally inexpensive) which will offer you previews of a wider range of browsers and OS's. You'll have to upload the files first of-course, as you'll need a URL to enter into the browsershots site. IE 7 is still in beta release, you can download it but do not think it will run alongside IE6, instead I think you'll find it will update it (maybe its better to update when it is in final release?) Good luck with your site
I don't know how my post (above) could possibly be worthy of a red rep, perhaps the donor could explain?
There are apparently some members here who resent anyone that exhibits a modicum of literacy. Same answer for you, astrovineet. The anonymous rep-- lets them irritate others and massage their own fragile egos. They do this without having to own up to their own dim-bulb status, which also spotlights a lack of cojones. Nor must they do what they are patently unable to manage, post a cogent counter to the statement with which they disagree or perhaps just cannot understand. cheers, gary
