I've been thinking a lot about Facebook's IPO and am wondering how people think that the IPO is going to change things... Do you think that the service will benefit from going public (and becoming slave to their shareholders)? Or do you think that this is the beginning of the end for a social service that will be destroyed by the profit motive? I think you may be able to guess what i think
I don't want to guess what you think... Nevertheless, we have examples of going to IPO and all of us know what was the end of this. Total comercialization, new privacy policy, which uses information you've added against you. This is the way of Facebook in the future anbd noone will give us even those 55$ per account which are the share of every Facebook user.
