Hi, I want to promote my new movie-streaming site. I only did a couple of things like link submission and such, and got good results for the first day (today), but I want to take it further. How can I promote it, and where? I made some searches in Google, but I can't find what I want. Thanks.

You can use many way to promote your video site. From blog and from ppc marketing. If you have money, just use yahoo or adword service.
Are you avoiding popular streaming sites due to www.flixster.com One way or another they will learn about your site if you begin to promote it and I'm not sure if you fall into a copyright infringement, similar name, similar content. Hope not, best of luck
Well, not really. flixter.com is for sharing movie reviews, so not similar contant. Plus, I doubt they will be able to sue me, as they are based in the US and I am based somewhere else where they wouldn't be able to take action against me (I think so, at least: copyright laws are as loose as air here). Although, if it does become popular enough, I just might add a social network or a forum *cough*diplomatic immunity*cough*
