HubSpot claims Inbound marketing is based on the concept of earning the attention of prospects, making yourself easy to be found and drawing customers to your websiteby producing content customers value Blogs, podcasts, video, eBooks, enewsletters, whitepapers, SEO, social media marketing, and other forms of content marketing are considered inbound marketing. In contrast, buying attention,cold-calling, direct paper mail, radio, TV advertisements, sales flyers, spam, telemarketing and traditional advertising are considered “outbound marketing.” David Meerman Scott recommends that marketers "earn their way in" (via publishing helpful information on a blog etc.) in contrast to outbound marketing where they "buy, beg, or bug their way in" (via paid advertisements, issuing press releases, or paying commissioned sales people, respectively). The term is synonymous with the concept of permission marketing, which is the title of a book by Seth Godin. The inbound marketing term was coined by HubSpot’s Brian Halligan, in 2005. According to HubSpot, inbound marketing is especially effective for small businesses that deal with high dollar values, long research cycles and knowledge-based products. In these areas prospects are more likely to get informed and hire someone who demonstrates expertise

Inbound marketing is a marketing strategy that makes use of the content to draw customers and elicit warm, qualified leads into your site or business sales funnel rather than acquiring cold targets. One of the most popular ways of fulfilling this goal is by keeping an updated blog. Hope this lightens up your query.

The use of inbound marketing demands a specific, unique company style. Creating the appearance of exclusivity creates stronger desires to acquire goods or services in prospective customers. Buyers always want to feel they are on the cutting edge when it comes to products and services.

Creating high quality content that will bring users to you. Your goal is to target users who are looking for your product instead of you looking for users who might like your product. They come to you, not you come to them....so you are creating content that is exposed and noticeable to people.
