How Well Do Your Landing Page Convert

I just finished the ad-copy for my website. I used a lot of the tips and techniques used in the book "mind control marketing" I've compared it to other landing pages that I know are making money and I must say I am rather impressed with how clean it looks, and how it is written.

I am about to launch my PPC campaign. The product I am selling is a large ebook on a specific subject that has yet to be dominated. The book is $59.95 but you get more than the book, on my landing page I'm also using a lot of hooks like "When you order this book you'll get FREE access to the members only forum." Lot's of little value added stuff such as that.

My question is this, what are peoples conversion ratio's like for selling ebooks? How well does your landing page do?

It really doesn't matter what someone else's conversion ratio is for selling ebooks.

Someone selling a weight loss ebook may be doing very well because of where and how they advertise.
Someone selling the same ebook may be doing very poorly because of where and how they advertise.

It also doesn't matter if you are impressed with your site.
I've had some really ugly sites that sold very well.
I've had some impressive looking sites that fell flat.

At the end of the day, someone else's experience is irrelevant.
At the end of the day, our own opinions are irrelevant.

There is only one test for any web site that sells ebooks and that test is: Sales.
The only way to know is to begin promoting. Let the market tell you if THEY are impressed.
    (If they are... they buy).

Everything else is opinion and opinions are pretty much worth what we pay to get them.

Let your bank account tell you how well you are doing.

My lead capture page for my business converts at around 20%. Its very simple, and I don't give much of anything away for free.

Its one thing to get your page to convert well but what it all really comes down to is how well your sales page converts. You could have a great lead page, but if your sales page doesn't convert you'll make no money. So you could have say 1,000 leads and only have 20 or so sales. OR if you had a good sales page you could have say 50 leads with the same 20 sales.

To me a lead capture page isnt the main part its more about the sale page conversion rate.

Then you also have to look into your email messages you send out. Are people clicking on the links in your email messages to go to your sales page? I would track click threw rates for a little while until you get a good number that you like.

Bottom line though is you have to test. Don't just test your lead capture page though as thats only 1 part.

Test your lead capture page, your email messages, and your sales page.

I'm not going to lie, like so many on boards do, *rolls eyes* but I convert average, which is around 1%, many times it is around 2%, sometimes it is less than 1%.
