There are ZERO competitors in this market on clickbank. Basically I have an informational DVD that I own the rights to, I want to convert it to a digital download and sell it on clickbank. It's a very niche market, and not very saturated at all. I was thinking $29.95 with a 75% affiliate payout. It's an hour and a half long instructional DVD for enthusiasts (sorry wont give away the product lol -- i know its vague), even shows them how to turn a weekend hobby into a business, if you so choose to do so. But I guess... Would a digital product such as a video do well on clickbank?
So your question is -- "Is my unknown video product appealing at $30 with a 75% affiliate payout?" How would anyone be able to answer that?
Yes, videos based systems sell well, I think, but you may want to include an ebook- something short like a tipsheet or even just a transcription of the video.
Yes they do, of course it depends on the niche but a video product in the right niche can mean $$$'s! I would say go for it! You will have no way of knowing until you do. Are there enough searches in the niche? Are they buying keywords? i.e "buy your {product or sevice}" or "how to {your product/service}" Are there Adwords on Google when you type in your phrases? A good way of finding out whether or not people are making money in the niche. Are there similar products? It is a GOOD thing if there are it means it might be a good niche people are making money from. Just a few things to think about... The beauty of Clickbank is you can have nearly ANY product or service up there and running fast! If you need any help with it let me know? All the best Chris
Thats the great thing about this, there are TONS of keywords such as "how to" etc. The search volume isn't exactly the highest, like 4k-10k per keyword in the niche, but there are tons of them. I've made a few sales already through adwords, but my ad copy really sucks, I am horrible at writing effective pitch pages. As far as competition, there is currently only 1 other advertiser offering a DVD, and checking on keyword spy, they show that he has been running adwords on it for over a year an a half, so he must be making money.
Yes, they can do very well. You might want to include one or two PDF's with it, as well? And divide it into short videos to make it a "15 video course" or "blueprint" or whatever. Ultimately, as with every Clickbank product, what determines how well it does is simply how good the sales page is. That's what the whole game's about.
If you mean how good the sales page is graphically, I vehemently disagree. Some of the top converting products have mediocre graphics/setup at best, yet they convert like HOT HOT HOT cakes. It's the COPY that matters. As long as your site doesn't look like it's from 1994, but you have great COPY, it will convert. The problem is that affiliates assume that if a sales page isn't awesome graphically, that no one will buy it. As a result, affiliates tend to promote pages that they like graphically, which RESULTS in success, whether the copy is great or not.
Sorry - when I said "how good the sales page is" I just meant "how good it is at converting". I wasn't trying to distinguish between graphics or copy or any other parameters. I was making the point that how many you sell of a product often has very little to do with the product itself and a lot to do with how good the sales page is at making the sale. (Though obviously refund-rates will come into play to some extent if the product's crap.) (I instinctively think of it in terms of copy, myself, but I ought to declare my own bias there, as a copywriter as well as an affiliate marketer! )
Yes, a video product can do great. There are a number of successful Clickbank products that are video. I think video is hot right now. I am selling mostly video right now myself and I try to include transcripts of the videos on PDF to keep people who like to read happy. Mike
