Hi All, Can any one clarify these topics I frequently get confused that how we analyze them? Regards, Terence
Okay, once you found a specific link on a website that you would like to "test" for do-or-no-follow you do the following: mark the whole link, right-click and then click "selection from source code" [or similar, I´m not having an english version running.]. If there is a "nofollow" somewhere in this link it´s nofollow!
Ya, you can always check the source of the page for the tag, or if you are using Firefox you can simply install an add-on such as Quirk SearchStatus and set it up to highlight the nofollow links on any page you visit. Or maybe you did not asked how to check if a link is do or nofollow, and what is it for and its function?
I am not sure I understand your question but here is what I assume you are asking. A Nofollow link simply gives the Search engines the command NOT to crawl and index that particular link. NoFollow was created by someone trying to battle SPAMMERS leaving unwanted messages in their sites, blogs or forums. Now, although the main "idea" is that search engines do not follow, crawl or index that particular page, if the page has good content, good SERPS and good PR some search engines will overlook the NoFollow command and Still index that particular page. I hope this answers your question, if not then give more details so we can better assist you.
easiest way to tell whether the link is nofollow or not is by using a firefox plugin called nodofollow
I'm not sure if I understand the question? There is a plugin called NoDoFollow that can be installed on firefox. It highlights all nofollow links with a large red rectangle. Is that what you are looking for? Google NoDofollow.
This is quite discussed in SEO industry. Many webmasters now use nofollow tags for user submitted content on their blogs, forums, open discussion boards, etc. These rel=nofollow links will not contribute in SEO purposes and hence its wise to check if the link you leave on forum is nofollow or dofollow one.
I use the QuickSearch plugin for Firefox, it has PR, Alexa, and other ranking info, along with an option to highlight nofollow links. I leave it on all the time, and keep my eyes open for sites where nofollow isn't used. I think it's a good habit to get into.
use a firefox add-ons like searchstatus. If it turns pink in color it is nofollow. download it here --> https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/321/
Use Firefox addons "NoDofollow" or SearchStatus. Using both these firefox, you can analyze the no follow and do follow.
I recommend the SEOBOOK Toolbar, it has a nofollow link highlighter (its a button with a red bordered-white box with an arrow pointing north-east) Nofollow doesn't mean don't follow this link - search engines still crawl nofollow links so you are best to use the robots tag or robots.txt if you want to exclude pages
yes, you can analysis the no follow tag and do follow tag from the page source code which show the relation ship of link.
