how was this digital point ad done ?

I would like to make adverts like this show on my webpage but i don't know how it was done or what it is called. here is the image below (i believe some of you might have seen it here also )

 

Try looking into a jQuery plugin called lightbox or something similiar.

it is probably VB plugin though you can create some of these using css and javascript
