I heard someone say today: To get rid of war we have to get rid of 1. religion 2. borders 3. testosterone What do you think? Any other suggestions?
I doubt the war will stop without the weapons. But yeah, war is serious money-making business they say...
Even in the middle ages, where the life expectancy was 40 year and there were diseases and hunger, people still managed to find time to fight each other without a break for hundred of years. Eagerly going to war is a characteristic of human nature. Modern west society has miraculously managed to suppress that urge. But in order for this to happen - you have to EDUCATE. EDUCATION is the only thing that can prevent wars.
No you are not right. For example, Italy was the number two exporter of weapons in the world in 2008. The US was first. p.s. Why do people write a word like "rite" instead of "right". Is the time saved using 4 instead of 5 letters worth looking like you don't know English or are uneducated?
It's an internet meme that started with people using a clever play on words and then asking "amirite?". But it's turned into people just getting rid of the clever and simply misspelling "am i right". http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/Amirite
Eliminate greed, lust for power and install kindness, empathy, unselfishness and truthfullness into the hearts of our leaders and then there will be world wide peace. This is asking too much as we all know the old saying " abolsute truth corrupts absolutely. This has always applied to all countries in thsi world, but especially so for the worlds biggest empires throughout history and even in modern times. IF you truthfully look at it, nothing much has changed from the roman times till now. The romans always believed they had a sort of democracy, yet they brutally conquered other countries and diplomatically turned smaller countries against each other. Has it really changed today folks? As yourself this
A start would be for people to stop thinking they know what a magic man in the sky wants. seriously, what better justification for something can you find than the belief that there is a big magic man in the sky and that he is on your side. Abraham, and some members on this forum if memory serves me correctly, were willing to murder their children if they thought god wanted it, so there is no limit to the atrocities this primitive mindset can't justify.
I would start with rude, vain people that think they know everything and want the world to believe as they believe or else they will redicule them. When in fact if it wasnt for online forums they would keep these stupid remarks to themselves. The only way to stop wars is for people to get love in their hearts and souls. True love isnt about a chemical feeling, it starts with being unselfish towards even complete strangers you have never met, caring for them and respecting their rights to believe what they believe without acting like a pompous jerk.
Don't you think we should start with treating others just as you described it here? That would make a good difference, wouldn't it?
