I recently posted 3 articles on ezines with links included in the resources box pointing to my site. As I notice that I am getting very little traffic from these articles, it makes it seem that people are writing ezines more for links rather than traffic. But how valuable are these links exactly? How do links from Ezine articles compare to reciprocal links, directories, one-way in-content links etc? Is it worth writing articles for Ezines these days, or are you better off focusing on building links by writing articles for other people's websites and so on?
See... the 2-3 links that you do have per article from Ezine, won't be worth too much (unless google thinks that article is fantastic, and it gets a pr 3 or more. The cool thing about ezine, is that people take the articles from Ezine and publish it on their site (usually, with author box in tact, but not always).... and so each site that publishes your article, thats 2-3 backlinks. If you write good quality content that people want to use on their sites, then thats where the massive amount of links comes from. 1 article on Ezine = 30 mins of time, Article published on Ezine, 2-3 free backlinks Article being distributed across the net with your backlinks attached.... PIRCELESS.
I was going to post a similair question about ezinearticles and weather or not having your website link in the resource box counts as a backlink. What is the difference between Squidoo.com and Ezinearticles.com when it comes to Googles counting backlinks within your article? Squidoo allows 3 to 4 links within your article that links back to your website. With Ezinearticles you have to place the link in the resource box.
I don't know much about squidoo, so I can't really help you there.... but Ezine's articles get distributed (if you write well on a popular target) and so the possibility for more backlinks is gigantic with Ezine articles.
only problem is once you re-publish your article to another site, they are no longer unique and can be picked up and used by anyone, even your competition.
What about your blog? If you use the same article for ezinearticles as you use for your blog. Is the article still considered unique considering it's under your name?
I was just going to ask about that....I see all these posts saying to submit your articles to Digg, Stumble....ezine.... By doing this, aren't we competing with ourselves? It seems as though we risk someone going to Digg but then not going to our blog or website.....am I right in saying this?
unless you write smaller articles for the article sites, and end it with for more information please visit 'insert site here'
Nicely said... rep given... you have described the advantages of publishing article on ezines very well... Thanks..
so are we supposed to write new articles on Ezine or just copy one that we already wrote on our website? Its bad enough I can't think of content to write on my site...why write a new one on another website? Maybe I am reading this wrong.....please explain further...... Thanks
Honestly speaking, it really depends on the quality of the article itself... if the article is a good one, it will automatically get attention in terms of G....
Quality articles are a great way to build your backlinks. Just be sure that if you are going to use it publish it first on your site.
