Hi, I have a blog and I read about placing it on Twitter. Today I spent 2 hours to understand how this Twitter works. I followed some guys recommended by the site but they are my competitors. I don't have any friend to invite to Twitter. How can I get traffic or some popularity with Twitter? What is this good for? Really I don't understand. Call me stupid but I don't understand. The help menu didn't helped. My objective is to have traffic on my blog, using Twitter and Facebook. Please help. Thank you.
just keep posting interesting and relevant posts, put a big banner or button on your blog that says follow us on twitter. I have done this and slowly reached 95 readers (i know its not a lot). I've read you can also go on sites like fiverr and they can retweet one of your tweets. but im not sure how relevant those followers would be so I havent tried it yet. I'm trying to learn as well so im not a twitter master or anything but thats what has worked for me so far. Good luck!

Look, I have my Twitter account for many with few followers for others with many, many followers I have is 1500 +, I have linked my sites to my Twitter account through feedburner, every time I update I get about 150 visits Twitter, a 10% average, but when they retweet some post that amount is multiplied up to 5 or 6. Twitter is a decent source of traffic. What you need to do is make sure your targeted people are specific to your NICHE. If you can get followers who are interested already in what you have to say then your on the right path. Find someone with a good amount of followers who is doing something similar or the same. Then go through that persons followers and pick the ones you like in there. I also like to use something catchy in my title and at the end I put I follow back just to get my ratio up followers to following. Follow a few hundred people a day until you hit 2000. Once you hit 2000 following let your account sir for 2-3 days. Then find a site that will separate your followers to isn't following back and get rid of the people who aren't following you back. Repeat this until you have a high enough ratio that twitter will let you follow more than 2000 people. There are other ways but this is a basic easy method. Also there is website that you can type in the type of followers on twitter that you want and it will give you some people so start off of.
Like other guys said before, the key is to get followers from your own Niche. There are two things you need to do to achieve these and they are tweeting & following.
