How to write adwords headlines that make money!

    Experienced copywriters and mail-order men have estimated that 75-80% of the pulling power of an ad is determined by the headline.

    With Adwords you only have a small amount of space to put in a headline so it is important to keep them short.

    Here are a few examples from the book "How to make your advertising make money" These are all headlines that had more effect when shortened.


    Original Headline: Hot Tips on Heatin Your Home.
    Revised: How to Cut Fuel Bills

    Original: A Smart Shopper's Guide to Bargains
    Revised: Shopper's Guide to Bargains

    Original: Three Ways to Mothproof a Marriage
    Revised: 3 Ways to Save a Marriage

    Original: How to Understand the Perplexing Teen-ager
    Revised: How to Understand Your Teen-Ager

    Original: Which Diet Tips Pay Off?
    Revised: Diet Tips that Pay Off.

    Sometimes making a headline shorter can infact increase the impact it has on it's readers. Hopefully everyone can use these examples and can come up with some of their own.
