Is there a particular method to writing a privacy policy?

I have seen long and short versions.

    Thanks

look at some short versions out there and adapt that to your needs or to your own country's legal requirements if existing.
the shorter the better - MO

Generally, phone your solicitor/ lawyer and ask them to write it and then copy and paste it into your site.... alternatively many steal other peoples and just change company names etc but then you run the risk of it being incorrect for your needs and/ or country (as well as breach of copyright)

There are a lot of open source ones that you can change to fit your needs, but if you want to be 100% secure just call your local Lawry and get him/her to write you a copy.

You can just google open source privacy policies...

    Here's one. http://www.the-dma.org/privacy/creating.shtml

But I agree with the other people though. Call a lawyer.
