For the one or two blogs I have, I write only weekly. I then break it down into parts. I tend to write excessive amounts most people don't like reading 3 pages of things, but you can simulate the 'after these commercial messages' by breaking them into parts. 200-800 words per part. Write in your own voice, I had no one paying attention until I started writing in my own voice....that helped so much, and I started engaging on blogs that I liked instead of just staring.
I am by no means an expert; however, i have learned a few things when writing. - write about something you care about. ( it comes across stronger) - use a notebook and write in different places. ( if your always at your desktop trying to churn out articles.. it isn't fun) - treat it like a hobby and don't expect to become a millionaire. - ABI ( Always be improving) Even the best bloggers are constantly improving their content and sites. good luck, have fun!
