It sounds ok but is it legit, in the sense that normally the theme will indicate that we are not suppose to edit their encrypted sig.
Still some people are finding a way to edit it, I dont know if its legit or not but I am just proving an appropriate solution!

Edit it at your own risk, I just gave a tip on how to edit it as many people google it, so some might land here too
My advise. Don't claim something that you have no relations to. Designers usually spend haft of the day to create an awesome theme and another few hours to distribute it and i believe they deserve the credits. Additional, usually they will just keep monitoring if your site is new but they will do something if you use the above statement on big sites.
I want to encrypted Footer like yours too. I will not delete the original link, but i will add some link.
You must open the home page of your blog, then view the source code of it. Now copy the code of the footer you found in the code and past it in the footer.php file. Save it. Now you can add what you want.
