How to wisely market a website?

    Hello,

I am very curious about good ways to market a service that really requires lots of traffic to work.

On my site I have a dilemma - I need a lot of visitors.

Please visit http://www.ademand.com, and give any helpful info that I can use to build up the business.

It's basically a free advertising service, and I think it's a really good idea by itself. However, maybe I'm completely wrong on this :)

Thanks in advance for any help!

Since it's a free service, I think it would really help if you started off marketing via blogs, so other bloggers may be interested in it and blog about it themselves (viral marketing!)

You could add it to social bookmark sites also.

And from your experience, if I do this stuff, how much will it help?

I heard some time ago that some sites like google used no marketing at all.

Basically I really think I'm making a great service that's really useful, but people just don't know about it yet.

One of the bigger problems with sites like yours is that no one will sign up if no one is signing up :)

Do you have any friends or family who might be interested in advertising on there... Get a bunch of content on there before you start any further promotion (even if you have to fudge it up yourself)

The most powerful marketing tool is word of mouth and the fastest growing sites have this in bucketloads..
