    Hello DPers,

Paypal sent me an email today stated that buyer claimed an unauthorized payment on digital product (It was a link building package) that I sell. The transaction was made on Sep 28, 2012 while the credit card chargeback issued on Jan 26, 2013. It almost been 4 months now.

If anyone has any experience to fight this such scammer tactic, mind to share your tips here on how to fight back properly. I've been faced with this kind of chargeback issue for more than 2 times and I've lost on both credit card chargebacks. I need your helps here maybe some tips on how to win this. The amount is too bigger for me to just let it go to the scammer hand.

Thats tough. There is nothing you can do at this stage as it could be that some one used a stolen credit card and made the payment.

The only thing you can do is to prevent it in future.
    - You can use some service like maxmind etc that will do some extra verifications for you.
    - Accept payments only from Verified paypal buyers.
    - Always call the buyer before you accept the payment. If you cannot get a response, refund the amount straight away. Can get some cheap phone cards that will allow you to make overseas calls at very low rate.
    - And refuse buyers from certain countries.

I don't think the card has been stolen since the transaction was made 4 months ago. In fact, why the credit card owner didn't rise a report about the stolen card earlier?

I'm planning to do a phone call with Paypal staff. Do you think it will works? Anyway, thank you for your reply mate. Really appreciate for such tips. Certainly, will do as per advice for a future security.

Calling Paypal may not help as their customer service is supposed to be not so good and they always side with the buyer. You can see similar stories online.
But better give it a try as you have nothing to lose other than a phone call ...
    Wish you good luck..
