How to value my site

    Hi there,
I'm looking to value my sites.
I've check it on sites like websiteoutlook to see the estimeted worth.
However, some people told me that such estimation won't be reliable.

Could someone suggest a reliable site which give more authoritative evaluation of a website, based on the daily pageview and Google page rank?

Looking forwards to some response soon.

    Thanks

I don't think that you can use any automated tool to estimate the value of any site on the Internet. The results that show are just not true.

There are many sites which show a value of $2500 but they make like $100000.- USD profit. How do you explain that?

values from those automated sites never close to real.

    these drive a website value:
    - domain value
    - 12-24 times monthly revenue

I've had several offers for my websites over the years...

Most companies that aquire other websites use detailed metrics to figure out the value. They evaluate traffic, income / commissions, search engine positions, backlinks, etc. But a good general rule many companies try to stick by is 3-5 times yearly profit. For example, if your site generates $10,000 in profit per year, a company willing to pay 3 times, would pay you $30,000. Of course, whether its worth 3 times (or 5 times) will depend on the niche, how desirable the website is, growth potential, etc. But that's a good general rule of thumb...

Stop considering all the crap tools out there is simple

    First of all :
Monthly revenue (and how is that made) x 12-24 months

Also a site can be raised in it's value
    By its age
    It's potential
    It;s runnming cost
It's mentainance cost/time to update or doesn't need to update ...

You can always use fire fox to check your page rank. mikes-marketing-tools is useful for cheching page rank for a given keyword or phrase. Firefox also has a handy PR checker plugin, I would link them to you if I could, but I'm not allowed to yet.

You should look more at revenue & traffic, as this it what matters to potential buyers the most.
High amount of targeted traffic are great for increasing the worth of a website.

Here are a few website valuation sites:

    websiteoutlook
    nameboy
    swiftappraisal
    websiteshadow
    dnsaleprice
    mysitecost

I agree with everyone else, but sometimes it is helpful to just get a ball park figure, and we cannot afford a real appraisal. And don't overlook google's keyword tool if you have keywords in your domain name. I recently bought a 3 word (10 letter) domain name whose keyword term gets 1.5 million global searches per month, so to me that is an indicator of value too.

alexa and domaintools might be helpful too.
