I'm looking to use my $1k and expand my domain portfolio to LLLL.com's (currently have none) A) Is this a sound investment? B) What do I look for in a good LLLL.com? C) What do you think of DHVV.com?
In my opinion, yes, although there will be ups and downs, of course. I believe LLLL.coms are still underpriced - but do not expect the 500% gains of the last three months, or anything like that. Letter quality, pronouncability (real, not pretend), Acronymns The best letters are SAC Other premium letters are: BDEFGHILMNOPRT Semi Premium: JKUVWY Worst letters: ZXQ A quad premium has only SAC BDEFGHILMNOPRT A triple premium has only one JKQUVWXYZ An anti-premium has only JKQUVWXYZ. True pronouncables are easy to say and act like words: sedo, ebay Pronouncables can have any arrangement of Consonants (C) and Vowels (V) Y is a semi-vowel in many people's eyes, not as good as AEIOU, but can make a pronouncable sometimes. An area of LLLL that is, in my opinion, overheated, is domains with the letter pattern CVCV - such as Sedo. VCVC are also in a lot of demand. While such domains are usually pronouncable those with the CVCV pattern are selling much higher than other similar pronouncables. A domainer's fad, IMHO, but no telling how long it will last. Decent, not super. Double letters, particularly next to each other are good, D is a good letter, H a pretty good letter, V a semi premium. Check out: 4letternoob.com which is quickly becoming the authority site on these domains. And remember, although LLLL.coms are the hottest thing in domaining now, eventually something else will be.
