Hi! I have downloaded some videos (in DVD-format). what is the best way to use them on youtube in order to promote my site (i sell concert tickets, and the videos show some of the concerts). what is important from the technical point of view (for the video uploading - never done this so far)
Post quality videos only. Make sure the videos are related to what your site is about in some way! You can add a watermark of your site to the video! Also add a link at the top of the description (Links are Nofollow though, but you will get a bit of traffic from them.)
The most important part: You need to OWN the copyright of the videos before you post them (Or have WRITTEN agreement of the copyright owner). Otherwise you are in HOT water fast. Can cost you $100,000 and more. There are lawyers out there that do nothing else then go to youtube, find a copyright violator and sue them. You say the you "downloaded some videos", I guess you are easy food for those lawyers if you want to re-upload them.
1. mention website URL in description 2. use enough keywords 3. watermark videos with website urls 4. You can also add annotations 5. give video responses - viral traffic All these possible only when vids you upload are do not infringe copyrights
I get a good amount of traffic from YouTube and highly recommend doing this! Create videos that are informative, not salesy.
You have big choice of adding videos to Youtube and make links to your website using the description option in the video editing portion, in this manner you will get a lot of traffic and you can use your videos by editing it using any video editor.
I am sure a lot of you have seen videos on Youtube with over 100,000 views! But are all videos that successful? Most of the videos that I have checked only gets a moderate amount of views. But then how do some people get over 100,000 views? What do they do in order to archive that?
I don't quite understand what you're saying. Are you saying that you can create a CLICKABLE link in the video itself? If not, is there ANYWHERE that you can add a clickable link? Adding a clickable link seems a lot more powerful than just "displaying" the URL in the video, which the user then has to type in manually. Thx.
Once you have the right to use a video you should: Add a URL watermark to the entire length of the video add a link to the site description, i.e. http://www.mylink....com think about adding a standardized intro and video wrap up that promotes your video use the most highly searched keywords as tags that are relevant to your video And the biggest secret, add it as a response to a highly ranked, highly viewed competative video.
Upload interesting/intriguing videos. You should also put relevant tags, along with a clickable link that points to your site in the description. That way you can boost your traffic.
I think links from YouTube do help you a bit though. One of my few competitors above me are purely there from their YouTube backlinks or blackhat techniques. 40 YouTube backlinks are all the site has so it does hold some power in my mind and is worth building. However, the best you can depend on is the direct traffic they will produce.
thats what I do and it seems to work pretty well. NOTE: in the info part on the top right of a YT video I put 2 different links instead of just one. Tony
That's One of the hottest ways to generate website traffic is by using viedeo sharing services such as YouTube to generate mindshare - and traffic - for your website. YouTube is a video sharing service that gets immense traffic, and you can get your video seen by a tremendous number of people, especially if you offer useful content such as video training or other edutainment.
