How to use Video as a medium for online promotion

Our online promotions via SEO has been pretty successful. Unique content, blogs, back-links, etc have given us a page 1 rank for the program & the products also have a decent ranking.
Would want insight as to how video media can be used for promotion within the website itself. What are the do's & dont's for the same. Anyone sharing their experience would be most welcome.

I would say that a DO is use Youtube as a means of promotion for your videos even if it is only a trailer.

Normally people will uplaod the video at youtube and put their website link to get visitor
