How to use to Adwords keyword tool?

Hi there guys Im sturggling to fin out how to use the adwords keyword tool

I type in my keyword and a list comes up,
Where it says Approx Search Volume: June then it has the number below it is this how many thousand have searched for this search term in June? IS this how many times my search term was searched for on every google search engines in June?

Please Help!

Make sure you use the site keyword generator in the tool. You can also put your competitors URL in the tool and - do a search with the keyword on ASK and use that URL in the generator.

 

Select right country when searching for search volume and exact search keyword not broad.

 

You can put your cometitor's web address in search box to find most valuable keywords for your business.
