Hello guys While checking many forums here people suggested to use squidoo to generate more traffic but I am unable to understand how to use it. I have checked and registered there but what to do now, how can i promote my blog or site using squidoo? I will be grateful if someone explains me how to use it. Thanks in advance.
First of all, I don't think Squidoo is as good as it used to be for building backlinks. They are also pretty strict about content, so you can't just use it for advertising. However, if you put some real posts and articles related to your niche, you can include links to your site. Again, they don't like too many links and will disable your "lens" if you abuse this policy. Personally, I would focus more on other Web 2.0 properties such as Blogger, Tumblr, Posterous, etc. Do a search "best (or most popular) Web 2.0 sites" and make sure the results are current, at least from 2011.
when you submit your articles to squidoo then they will read your article and then within 7 days they will approve it. but most of the time it takes 24 hours to approve articles.
Here is an article on how to get the best from Squidoo at http://alexwhalley.com/traffictips/how-do-you-squidoo/. John SEO Experts
It seems that Squidoo and eHow have same concept. On both these sites, you can submit the articles. You can submit same article at both the places, but it should be before the article get indexed in SE.

Squidoo is like a blog, you can set up as many squidoo lenses as you like, then you can use these squidoo lenses to point at your main website/blog to help give it links and also traffic directly from your lense. Also some people use Squidoo for there main marketing niche website and actually sell directly from there lense.
The way to get traffic from Squidoo is by creating a "lens". It's something like a mini-blog for me where you can put all your articles about a specific topic/niche. You can place links too going back to your site and that's how you get traffic from it. But Squidoo is stricter these days. Better read their guidelines before submitting anything to avoid wasting your time.
Squidoo can be used for affliate marketing.there are main three ways by which we can increase the affilaiate marketingand theyare:- 1)To launch various schemes for high selling products. 2)To involve many lenses on a single product. 3)Squidoo helps in making an authority site and helps in traping the customer by providing them with various links and keeping them busy on website.
Squidoo is a web 2.0 property, people post pages on vaious topics called a Squidoo Lens (it's just a page on a subject, just like an article), with various links on them, and ofcourse links to their own sites
I have Squidoo very successfully to get traffic to my main websites. You want to use Squidoo to target very specific keyword phrases. For instance, I built a bunch of Squidoo lenses on log furniture for one of my furniture sites, I set up about 5 lenses ( lenses is just a fancy word for a Squidoo site) and linked them all together. I linked to my main site from within the articles in various places. You will want to play with them a little as there are a ton of modules you can use on your lens. It can be a great way to get traffic if you set it up right.
hello mr milindmk, i read your question how to use squidoo first you registered then activate your activation code/message then logain then create a squidoo ( your content original) put title, summery, images, then go to body part and post your article then published your squidoo
I used to use Squidoo a lot because Google loved it. Not so much anymore. When I used them I would put my keywords within the Squidoo title, write relevant content and put in affiliate offers, etc. Or, just create links going back to my main site. In the OLD days (like 36 months ago, LOL) I used to use it with an email capture form. Gone are the good days . . . Today I would not focus much on Squidoo and look at wordpress blogs wrapped around your keywords. That's what I'm finding the most success with today.
