Before you make your lens, you want to remember that building your lens around your business is always a good idea. Then, You can also use RSS feed to lead people to your blog, if that is what you are using for your website
Create lenses in Squidoo and promote these lenses through social networking & social bookmarking websites. You can say lenses behave like a page of the blog or website. Thanks,
When you create a Squidoo lens, use one of the keywords you are targeting. Be sure to not link excessively to your site. If you do, it will be flagged as spam. Squidoo lenses need backlinks, just like other sites. They tend to have better serps because of it's internal link structure. I have 30 Squidoo lenses (lensmaster since 2006). You may also want to look into HubPages...
write a squidoo lens and put 1 or 2 links to your site in the lens..they call a squidoo page a lens for some silly reason.. if your site is `hatsfordogs.com then write a squidoo page about that subject or something similar..and you could link the words `hats for dogs` to your site..Squidoo and Hubpages have a high PR rank..you earn some money from adsense % share also..
you can use squidoo to make a page about a targetted topic and link a couple of times your keyword to main site... be sure to search site:squidoo.com keyword in google first and see what competition you have on lenses.. no good doing one if there are 1000 already on that subject unless you have a good plan to beat the top 5 or 10 results returned.. look for a keyword / subject that is less competition.. I would only do this after you have submitted to directories and SE's and done a few articles elsewhere.. because you really need to build some links on the lense also.. aswell as your own site to make it have much use to you..
