Social bookmarking websites are based on the idea that users share their bookmarked sites with others, essentially creating a user-defined search engine. Users can also find sites which they might be able to find on the search engines. Recently, social bookmarking has become a widespread phenomenon in the online world. For affiliates, social bookmarking sites are a quick and easy way to get free traffic almost instantly. Just post up your bookmarked affiliate links, and presto, you are done! And if people like your website, it will become viral. You will have more traffic as a result. A few popular bookmarking sites you can visit are Stumble Upon and Feedmarker. All you need to do is sign up for an account and submit your affiliate link. Yes, it's that simple! This only takes a few minutes of your time. In a matter of moments, your affiliate link will rotate with other bookmarked sites. A more advanced way to use social bookmarking sites is to create an affiliate blog and ping it at places like Pingoat.com By pinging your blog, you are announcing to all the directories that your blog has new posts. Usually, this will create a steady stream of visitors. Be sure to post your affiliate link in your blog. All in all, social bookmarking sites are a goldmine for affiliate marketers. Do add it in into your marketing arsenal, for some instant free traffic. It doesn't take more than a few hours to implement these tactics, and the rewards will be well worth it to say the least! © Fabian Tan
Thanks for putting this info here Fabian. Few people underestimate the power of social bookmarking. I've known this from article directories. Once your article is live in some article directory, article site webmaster suggest that you go for social bookmarking for more exposure. May I also suggest another technique -- You can submit urls of your blogs or where your articles are located to netscape.com.
