How to use promote in google search?

Hi what is the new promote icon in google search results? How do I use it and what are its effects on sites I promote?

 

It's a new feature by Google Personalization and won't affect the real searchers unless they are logged in to their Google Accounts during the time the do the search

 

For now, it won't affect Google's main index, it is meant for only personal searches when you are logged in under your id. There is some thought that down the road, Google may incorporate some of this data into their ranking of sites in their index.

 

Since it is more personalized and still on beta, it might will not help for better rankings.

I think it helps to a certain extent..Otherwise why they are implementing it..

they are implementing this under guise of personal search.. so users do n't misuse it..

 

I agree with, this does have some effect on the rankings but not big enough to actually see that it's working.

 

Down the road, I think it will be used in their ranking of sites. As to claiming this as personal search to prevent misuse, I'm pretty sure spammers are going to be all over this, just like every social site, looking for ways to game the system.

 

It really is. It has nothing to do with SERP of any website. =)
