hey guys Can you share your experience on this please. First I didn't use position bidding in my campaigns. Now I realized that on many keywords im in the 1-3 positions anyway. So it would'nt matter if i bid on position 8. If there are 2 competitors for my keyword, i would get positon 3 even i bid for position 8. I thought this would save me money. But I'm not quite sure because my statistics are mixed up now. Does this strategy make any sense?
The premise behind the position bidding is to try and lock in a certain position that will give you the greatest ROI. Sometimes its a lot more expensive to get yourself into the first slot, than to work with the third; both will show at the top of the page, but one will be cheaper. This is great if you have highly compeditive keywords, as is the case in a lot of broad keywords. However, if there are only a couple compeditors, its not going to serve much purpose unless you need that top slot. If you are ok being 3 out of 3, I would just lower my bid to a hair above the minimum and save some coin.
