    Hey there!

So today I decided to write you a little tutorial how to use meta tags correctly. The reality is that very very big part of webmasters write all their keywords to keywords meta tag, but the thing is.. when Google will view your website then most of you know that Google will read keyword tags and then description tag and then your page’s body.. Well.. yes, few years ago it was like this, but at the moment I don’t believe it’s like that.

I have tested at least 100 times on different pages, different keyword combinations, different lenghts etc.. And I noticed that when Google crawled my page then sometimes it used some info from my description tags and sometimes used keywords from the keyword tag, but most of the time it took information from the article body. Yes for smaller pages without much content it will use mostly keyword and description tags, but if you are doing longer articles then it will use information from article body.

So.. I was trying some plugins for my WordPress blog and I noticed that when I wrote an article and used All in One SEO Pack Google used my keyword tag and description tag because they basically 100% matched the content so Google didn’t care about searching little pieces of text from my article’s body, it used those I entered to meta tags. So.. few days passed and then I started getting searches (without promotion) from Google for those exact keywords.. and basically only for those keywords. Isn’t it awesome! Basically Google won’t use random info on your article, but it uses this info that you want to give to Google.

This is a true case, if your meta tags are powerful and very relevant to the content then Google will inspect the content that it is not copied and the keyword usage in the content after that Google will use your meta tags to give the snippet of your site in search results

Yes, also people say that keep your keyword % around 1-3.. I just say use your keyword 2-3 times in article and it's good enough. Just make sure you use those keywords or keyword in keywords and title. Description tag is not that important because most of the time Google will take description from content body.

The Meta Keywords tag used to be an important way to get your page listed under specific keywords under the search engines.
The META Keywords tag should be placed in the <head> portion of your web page. If you are using a WYSIWYG editor, there is usually some way for you to enter the keywords on the page using a separate dialog box. If you are typing it yourself into your web page, the tag looks like the following:

    The keywords should be comma-delimited.
