I was wondering. Basically, I was using the following recipe: Free Keyword Research Steps 1. Keyword Sheeter Go to Keywordsheeter.com and type in your seed keyword. This tool basically scrapes Google Search bar and instantly comes back with hundreds of potential keywords to use. Google Keyword Planner 2. Go to Google Keyword Planner. You will need to setup an Adwords account (got it). Once within Keyword Planner, copy and paste round 250 of the potential keywords from Keyword Sheeter. Make sure you select the United States prior to searching these keywords. Use the results to display the searches with a minimum of 100 monthly searches. 3. Go to Ahrefs. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page where it says Free Tools and click on to the bottom of the page where it says Free SEO tools and click on Check Keyword Difficulty. If you are running a new blog, then you are going to want to get the results that come up with an Easy rating of 0-9. 4. Start creating content for said keywords. There. I get now how to use it, as well as the third, final step, but I don't yet get the second one. Is it a case where I dump a whole bunch of terms (collected from Keyword Sheeter) in a Keyword Planner search engine, or is it a collection of terms by hand? Where to paste the term mentioned in the 2nd step in Keyword planner? Do I insert the terms in "Discover new Keywords," or "Get Search Volumes & Forecasts," or is it something else entirely? I tried already to dump 'em in "Discover new Keywords," but to little success. How to practice proper process, here?
Hm. I see according to Ahrefs that I can exclude keywords for volume in the paid version, but not the free. Hm. Are there other keyword tools that can compensate, and if so, how? I think I'm starting to get this, Searching for higher-volume search terme, but at low difficulty. Progress.
Hm. Evidently I've gotta pay $99 for the cheapest (paid) version of Ahrefs, and that be way too expensive for my blood. I understand that I can compensate for the of paid Ahref options with other services, like through Keyword Sheeter and Google Keyword Planner, but what exactly, I don't know. Anyways, using the free Ahrefs version, I have been able to find a few good low difficulty keywords, but not many, and typically of (very) low traffic volume. If I'm going the free route, how to do this effectively? (At least I think I'm starting to know what I'm doing.)
