Starting to use Google analytics (have just made my account)

am having difficulty generating code for my webpage - this code to be inserted to the website to track its visitors.

can you give the basic instructions to how to set up a profile for tracking 4-5 of my webpages (on the same domain)

I have inserted the website url, as a analytics profile- what next??

I have entered domain, made profile..... and am now on a goal settings page....

    G1 (Goal not configured) Off
    G2 (Goal not configured) Off
    G3 (Goal not configured) Off
    G4 (Goal not configured) Off

is a goal a 'type of tracking' ??

To start with, all you need to do is put the code on your site - after you make a profile, add a new domain and the code is generated for you - just put it within the <body> </body> tags of the pages you want to track - you can go back and add goals etc later - just putting the code on the pages is the first step, and when you've done that it'll start showing you data, and you can get more advanced and decide if you want to do something to get more advanced results.
If you've already set up a profile go to 'settings' 'check status' and you'll be shown the code again.

sign up in google analytics and get a code for your tracking web site, install that code in all pages of your site before </body> Tag.

Set your goal, with your targeted url, your goal url should not be linked to any of your web page, if it related to any form fill up or any kind of inquiry.
