You can do it with email forwarders. If your domain's hosting account provides email forwarders (most do), create a forwarder 'myaddress@mydomain.com' and direct it to your Gmail address. Next, go into Gmail and click on the Settings menu at the top right of the screen. Click on the Accounts tab and then click Add another email address, and insert 'myaddress@mydomain.com'. Gmail will then verify that you own the address that you enter. An email will be sent to 'myaddress@mydomain.com', which of course will winds up right in your Gmail inbox (since you've already set up the email forwarding for it at your hosting account). You click on the verification link in the message and then Gmail adds the address into your Gmail account. After that point you can use your Gmail account for sending and replying to other messages with 'myaddress@mydomain.com' as the 'sender' or you can continue to use your original gmail address. Both options will be in a selection list and you can change back and forth for all the email you send out.
