How to use free nameservers to host sites on a dynamic IP?

    Hi there,

does anybody have a tutorial or something about using a public, free nameserver service to host a site on a server with a dynamic IP?

these services mostly offer a "dynamic dns" option but I failed miserably trying to configure it :(

    Thanks in advance!

    Try zoneedit
    http://www.zoneedit.com/doc/dynamic.html

It's free and you have windows, mac & linux apps for updating automatically your ip.

Just checking back to say thank you.

the zoneedit instructions are pretty straight forward so dns was up within a couple of hours (regular dns delay). I had some problems pointing multiple domains to one host/IP but finally found this:
    http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/vhosts/examples.html
under normal circumstances you want your httpd.conf to look like the first example on the page.
