How to use face book and twitter to promote your site

I would like to know your suggestions in order to increase traffic on site by using face book and twitter.

 

well I think that you can increase traffic by having more fans and then running some sort of contest over the website and facebook simultaneously.

 

Add the like buttons of Face Book & Tweeter on your page.
1. Create a FaceBook Fan page
2. On your site, put Facebook logo with some title like LIKE/JOIN us on Facebook
3. Post regular updates & your products/services to Facebook page
4. Respond to people comments, pictures & videos on Facebook
5. Encourage people to LIKE your FB page so you can have better traffic via regular updates

And do similar thing with Tweeter.

 

In my opinion using facebook or twitter and promote your site is increasingly popular.Here i define few steps about it.
1.Use a page, not profile
2.Get your vanity URL
3.Fill out your profile
4.Space out your post
5.Post something, talking about
6.Consider the tone
7.Use facebook insight to check the stats
8.Consider different audience on twitter and facebook
9.Keep up to date on update.

 

Increase your status as followers will come and it will help in promoting your site. But I am not sure that it will help in increasing ranking as well.

 

Post relevant and unique content to the people you would like to target. If they find it interesting...the traffic will follow.

 

Try to Involve fans by bookmarking interesting posts in Facebook and Twitter, once your site will get referral visitors from this site it will helps to get ranking in search engines..

I would like to ask one thing you most know, now more then 40% face book ids are fake or if I'm getting irrelevant traffic from my face book?
