How to use domains?

    Hallo :).
    I have a hosting at hostgator.com, and i dont use all the space, and want a new website to incrase my income :)
    So i have thinking about doing something like,
    www.mydomain.com/newdomain
    get it rediret to
    www.newdomain.com

    But i should still get pagerank to www.newdomain.com

    I really dont now anything about this domain thing, but i think this is easy to explain for you guys.

    And where is the cheapest please to registere a domain.

    Very easy, just addon the domain you have registered (newdomain.com) in cpanel, upload site files to newdomain folder. After that, create a sub folder in www.mydomain.com/newdomain, redirect to newdomain.com

    Domain you can register at www.name.com at $5.99 (first year) or www.mydomain.com $7.60 with coupon code "htmli.info"

    Should i use redirect in php like
    <?php
    header( 'Location: http://www.yoursite.com/new_page.html' ) ;
    ?>

    And if yes, will that not do something to my pagerank, i have just heard i should be something like dns and that kind.
