How to use Digg.com to increase traffic?

Can anybody explain to me how to properly use Digg.com to increase my site's traffic? Everytime I submit links to Digg.com, it's almost pointless because nobody else ever diggs it, and therefore nobody sees it.

To get more "digg", you first need to make many "digg friends"

I don't use Digg.com that much, but I have heard from people that it has helped out a lot.
If you are trying to promote an affiliate product through digg.com, posting the link and waiting for something to happen will NEVER work. You have to take action. Look up your friends from Facebook (if you have an account), see if they have a digg.com account, become friends with them. More importantly, become interactive with your Digg.com friends. Comment on their diggs, tweet their digg, and most importantly, give them a Digg. If your friends see that you are taking an interest in their diggs, they will notice that and look at your diggs.

To get digg traffic you need to have original good stories. I don't use Digg at all. You need to have a group of friends on Digg that will be able to digg you stories. Irrelevant stories and repetitive stories will not get anywhere on digg.

Just like on twitter and facebook your links will not get clicked if you dont have any friends. So how to use digg? first add friends, find them, talk to them and then you will see results.
