    Hiya,

I have recently joined CJ and have no problems with the link code for adding to general web pages. I am however having an issue working out (or trying to get anyone at CJ to clarify how to use on PPC / Forum sigs / bloggs.

With PPC & Bloggs that I use, the affiliate link has to be a single URL e.g http://www.affiliateweblink.com

When I get link code from CJ for a text link it is like this:

    <a href="http://www.kqzyfj.com/click-3831319-10406869" target="_top">DatingDirect.com</a><img src="http://www.awltovhc.com/image-3831319-10406869" width="1" height="1" border="0"/>

I know from testing that if I just take the link icode i.e http://www.kqzyfj.com/click-3831319-10406869 from the above code, it will not register or record the visitor, I guess the rest of the code must have additional security in it to control where the code is placed.

Can anyone tell me, ho do I go about getting the link code that can be used to add to a blog o PPC?

I have the same problem with a forum Sig, the above code does not work. Using the above example, I have tried setting the signiture image to http://www.awltovhc.com/image-3831319-10406869 and linking that image to the link - http://www.awltovhc.com/image-3831319-10406869

Doing this works i.e my signiture has the correct banner graphic and when clicked links to the affiliate but when I then check my stats (the following day alowing for the delay) it has recorded no views or clicks.

Can anyone advise as CJ and the advertisers I have asked have yet to provide any helpful response.

    many Thanks

I don't know anything about CJ yet, but do you need to allow or set sites as approved for CJ code?

I'm thinking how Adsense can be set to only allow certain sites. Just a thought.

Yes, you need to set a website and then get the link code for that site. Thats why i cannot see how to work with CJ links from things like PPC and forums as the code seems to have to apply to a particular website you are putting te code onto ??

Each advertiser has its own rules according to PPC and direct linking. Most I work with don't allow direct linking to PPC campaigns....so you will need a landing page.

Forums are a different beast. The forums themselves could have a block on that kind of code because they know its affiliate code...not sure though. I would make sure you contact an advertiser on CJ first before you start forum posting as some may frown on this.

By the way...not being up-front on where the clicks/earnings are coming from is a good way to not get paid. Make sure you add your websites and contact the AM of the program with any questions. Read the user agreement as many questions will be answered there.

You can set up a page on any site to cloak the CJ links. Then you can use that clocked code to place wherever you want.

Tracking is important, but not as important as ensuring the cookie is set and you get credit for the sale.

I think CJ doesn't allow those method to promote. If you want to promote Commission Junction with comments ( blogs ) or signatures ( forums ), you should design some landing pages and link to it. Just use these to promote for those landing pages. It's great and work !
