Looking for some advice what to do here: I have a website built up on a 5-letter pronouncable domain equal to a psychic's first name and first letter of last name, like johnd.com. I have just registered the top keyword phrase that she needs to hit. The site has been dormant for about a year or two with hardly any promotion to speak of but it's got a PR2. Not in the top 100 SERP for her keyword phrase, though. We want to use both domain names. I guess the best SEO way to do it will be to run the site off of the keyword-phrase.com and use the shorter name.com on non-clickable media (like business cards, print ads, etc.) I guess another approach would be to build up keyword-domain as a reviews site or affiliate site and use it to drive traffic to the main site. Are there other approaches to consider? Any advice on what's the best way to take advantage of the keyword-phrase.com?
I think, you could build a blog site for your business site. And build links on key-word.com site for your business.
Create an article marketing campaign where you use your keyword word phrase as the anchor text in the resource box. This is especially good if you want to become an expert in your field so if the name is the keyword phrase I'd also make sure to make it the author in all the articles you write. Using a service like unique articles wizard will help you submit these articles to tons of directories and you can be getting tons of backlinks from just one article written in just days.
As long as the domain contains the key phrase, it doesn't matter if it also contains an extra word or two does it? For example, let's say my key phrase is "digital point". The domain name mydigitalpointforum.com would still be as effective as digitalpoint.com, right?
