Hi everyone, i am the owner of an affiliate store(see my sig) and recently my articles are being rejected from ezine(because they link to my affiliate store) so this is a big problem for me. somebody suggested that i use a blog to promote my site and place links to my blog in the articles i submit, and then place links from the blog to my main site. but im unsure how to go about it.i had an idea and want to see what you guys think.

My affiliate store is categorised into sections such as "electronics, gadgets, entertainment etc etc), well what if i used the "link list" feature in blogger and listed all the categories of my affiliate store(there are about 13 categories) on the right hand side of my blog under the heading "shopping portal" or something similar. Do you think this could work? Obviously i would also have an article section in the blog where i would provide usefull content to my readers such as product reviews etc. But the main thing i want is that visitors Do visit my actual affiliate store and not just my blog.

I would love to hear suggestions of how i could use my blog to promote my main site. Sorry about all the questions but im new to the world of affiliate marketing.

Oh, and would you recommend blogger or wordpress?

    thanks in advance

    alan

p.s i have made my 1st attempt at a blog(see my sig) i would love to hear some constructive critisism

Looked at your blog - my suggestion is to attract more attention to your Sale's Portal.
On my blog - http://www.hyperphotocube.com/ I put little pictures before the names of my Friends and Associates.

That improved their click through ratio. Next I'm planning on doing a 125x125 ad square to see if that improves it. Will see if that improves things.

Like most things - I'm trying new things on my blog to it works better cause that is interesting, rather then make money. So I don't know if my suggestion will put money through you pocket but it should increase the turnover rate and improve your funnel.

I would write specific reviews for individual products then link directly to the product from the review on your blog.

You can then write articles like you suggested for ezine articles and other article directories to build up traffic to your blog.. which would more or less exist solely for the purpose of pushing your store.
