How to upload properly MySQL database to WordPress?

I just recently bought a website and I’m having a problem with the website not showing up.

I installed Wordpress through Fantastico, dropped the tables in MyPhpAdmin and imported the SQL file sent by the seller. All went smoothly but when I visit the address, nothing shows up.

Is there something I missed? Should I install manually? Should I add the database first before installing Wordpress?

Thank you very much. Hope to hear from someone soon.

Just upload the files and folders of wordpress that you have received from your seller and then restore MySQL database. Make sure your are using same database and database user mentioned it in wordpress configuration file (wp-config.php) or else you will need to change this in configuration file.

I dont think it does matter if you have your site wordpress or anything else, for restoring database you should use phpmyadmin so just import your sql file using it and all will be setup.
