You can't. Facebook doesn't allow it. There are outside apps, but I don't trust them.

Yeah, facebook doesnt allow this. Maybe in the future they will but un likely due to the larger file size with associated with gifs and how messy the news feed will get with crazy gifs haha

Didn't work for me either. You can make a video from an image slideshow... you can even use Powerpoint to achieve this. Then upload it to YouTube or Vimeo and then post the video's link to your Facebook...
I know it's not all as nice as an animated GIF and people will have to play the video.
This is what I cam up with, hope it helps :p

Facebook has blocked the GIF pictures. Even if you upload an animated GIF on Facebook, it will only show you a ordinary image.

I saw an animated file on someones page and was so surprised, it was a .jpg but since I new it couldn't be I opened it up in Photoshop which ended up with errors, so I changed the the .jpg to .gif (only available in show hidden files mode) and it was a gif animation file so probably if you save your file in .gif format and afterwards change the suffix to .jpg it will probably work :) since the site will detect it as a JPEG but the animation will still work, at least for the next few days! before they find out that you've found out, but I'm sure they will block this out too, so hurry if your in bad need of doing this! I
    • don't lie
    • don't cheat
    • don't steal
    • don't spam , but you may have to find other programs for uploading these fake .jpg files, at least for now it works as I said ,till when, I dont know!

Why would they block animated gifs?
