how to update ads across the board?

I have about 50+ groups and I want to edit the ad on all of them. Is there a way to do it without going into each ad group individually? Similarly, is there a way to add a new ad into all 50+ groups?

I believe this is what you're looking for:

In the campaign management tab -->Tools -->Advanced Search and Editing --> Find and Edit Ad Text

hmm I looked at it, but there was no option to make any changes. the oly thing available was the ability to click on the individual groups to go change the ad. that will still take forever.

On the bottom of the Find and Edit Ad Text is an arrow which says: Specify changes to perform on the ads that are found, using it you can specify the changes you want to perform on the whole account.

Google has a software program "Google Adwords Editor" that you can download and make mass changes, then upload your ad groups back. This is good for changing the sale % amount, the name of the month in the ad, the URL, etc.
