How to "unlink" a profile/email account from my account

Thanks in advance for some desperately needed help! Here's the situation: I helped a friend create a new Yahoo email account. We used one of my computers. I was logged out of my Yahoo email. The creation was successful; however, it appears "linked" to mine. I can send messages from my account to this new one but I do not receive messages sent FROM the new account. In addition, after my friend logs out of this new email, he cannot log in. Only access to it seems to be if I use MY OWN log-in info. Can anyone advise how I should attempt to fix this?

I did a lot of looking and kept finding the same answer. It can’t be separated/unlinked, only removed.

I was afraid this was the answer. So - how does one create a new (Yahoo) account on a shared computer without this happening?

I think the best way is to ensure you are totally logged out of Yahoo before creating a new Yahoo account. Deleting all cookies and temporary Internet files before creating the new account may help too.
