ive seen how tos for this before for older versions of wp but not wp2.1 yet
    anyone any tutorials or info?

what exactly are the main things that must be changed for a blog to not be picked up by blog search engines and be treated as a normal site?
    thanks

You will probably find that the Wordpress 2.1.x series comes readily equipped as a great CMS as standard. Just check out your Wordpress options area in your Dashboard and you will find a wealth of flexible items you can tweak and play with, not to mention the massive amount of plugins you can install to help give off the impression of a fully-fledged CMS.

WP 2.1 is itself a big step towards a CMS; hopefully upcoming versions will be providing lot more
