Is it possible to get a media player to shut off when you hide the div layer you have it in? I am asking for someone else, but I don't think it's possible, any ideas? Thanks!
I think I can help you with that, why don't you set it up to play in a frame at the top of the site. That way in internet explorer you could right click it and turn it off, and in firefox you could right click, and view that frame only and turn it off. There's an example of what i'm talking about here http://www.son-b.3lo.net/forum/radio/radio.html
Colleen: Take a look at the source code on this page and tell me if it helps: http://www.lohan.freshdames.com/rumors-video-lyrics.html
Thank you both, I will pass this information along to my boyfriend, he's working on a surprise so I don't know what it is, hopefully this works. Thanks!! wrmineo, I don't see any divs that can be hidden on that page.
Colleen - you're asking a blonde ... I heard media player, div layer and help ... Actually, someone else showed me how to put this code on the page - I was just hoping to pay it forward so to speak. Maybe with the pieces, your bf can construct the puzzle for your surprise. Hope it works out.
Any help is better than none, we do appreciate it. Ever since I taught him divs and css he's been into using them for everything, he won't want to put it in a frame, plus there's no way to turn it off and that just froze my computer and closed all my work on me, lol.
Eh? If you right click the frame you can turn it off, I don't know why it froze your comp, I'm sorry It's setup so users can listen to the radio while browsing the forum, the frame stays at the top of the screen when you change pages. I'll have to look into that though, what browser are you using? Altenately you could setup a little flash button with an off/on and volume slider to turn your embedded media off.
I am using IE6. Ok I will share this info with Dan and see what he decides, may not know til tomorrow, I think he's asleep. Thanks for the suggestions and help illuminati.
