How to turn a JPG file into a Banner? How do I go about it?

Okay I have photoshop, Flash and Fireworks. What program is best to create a Banner from a JPG file such as the ones on this site at the bottom:

    http://www.subliminal-hypnosis.com/affiliates.html

    What commands should I use.

    Any additional information if helpful!
I am trying to make my first homemade banner!
    Thank you

Umm thats a flash banner. Since your new i suggest trying swish, its a simple flash program that will do the trick. Swish can be found at www.download.com. Good luck!

I think he has a jpeg file and want's to do a flash banner with it.

You don't use "commands", you need to learn Flash.

I didn't bother to look at the link since multiple people said its a flash banner.

Alternatively, You can make a gif file that would be animated as well. If you have photoshop and imageready you can create the banner in photoshop with a separate layer for each frame of the banner, and then export it to imageready which will save the animated banner as a gif file.

Sorry my example for a site was not clear... I meant the Banners above the flash banner. I just need to know how to take a photograph and make it smaller like a non stationary banner.

This link should be more clear:

If all you need is to resize an image you can do it with loads of tools, or just post them here or send them to me and I'll resize them in a couple of minutes for you

I was confused about banners too when I started this whole webmastering gig...:) (it seems like it should be way harder! haha)

A .jpg can be a banner. A "banner" really is just a linked image. All of my banners are jpg's

Photoshop in this instance is the perfect tool for the job. You shouldn't need anything else.
