How to turn 500 visits within 24 hours into Forum Signups?

    I just got 500 visits within 24 hours to my forum www.iphonefreelancer.com and I only got 2 signups. How do I get alot more forum signups?

    New forums are always tough to get 'off the ground'. People tend to seek out active and thriving communities which makes starting a new forum a challenge. My suggestion, head over to the 'services' part of this forum and look for people willing to post messages if you pay them. This will make the forum look more active to potential members which in turn will make it more likely that they will join the community...hope this helps (nice looking forum btw)

    Start posting and asking your friends to post, works best from my own experience as a forum visitor (not forum owner). You could also try setting up events/contests.

    what about offering a 'forum exchange' like the link and social exchanges?
