    use cPanel backup option.

you can send your all files(Whole site) to your new Server.

    How?
Login to your Old Host cPanel Account and then click on "Full Backup"

Select "Server" enter your New Host Username/Password in FTP Details(Host: ftp.NewServerIP and use your New Host Username and password)

select location and then click on send, after 5 minutest your full site is send to your new host.

If you have root access to your new server your download the files via FTP from your old server. Than you bypass your slow internet connection.
You could also probably ask your new hoster if he transfers the site for you if do not have direct access to your server.

Well it's better to request from your new host company to transfer your all files from your old host, most of them do it for free... it's a very easy process, host companies have WHM panel which makes the transfer automatically :)

    login to your new server

"cd" to the folder you need the files to be (say for eg; /home/mmsbomber/public_html

do ftp to old server (ftp://username:password@oldserverip.com) and navigate to the folder where you need files to be copied

user mget with recursive function (google on syntax; there are various option available for mget option)

of if the site is small and if you hold cpanel/whm; you can backup the account and move it by manually uploading the zip/rar file of entire content to new server.

AFAIK,whenever you buy new hosting, you can request for transfer free from your new host.
Just open a ticket, they will do it for you.

If both web hosts are using same control panel it will take few clicks to move. If they are not using same panels - drop ticket to your new web hosting provider and ask them to help you.
